When you really love your home, it's natural to want to show it off.

Some owners, though, like to share their home's delights a little more widely, by registering it as a location for film and television, or by getting it featured in a magazine.

We look at seven houses on the market right now that have had their share of the limelight.

Tadworth, Surrey
Mel Smiths' movie High Heels and Low Life was filmed at this house, and the owners say they are approached by movie producers regularly about using it as a location. Said to once have been owned by the Sultan of Brunei, Kingswood Manor was built around 1895 and is really rather grand, with a dramatic staircase and oak floors, wood panelling, high ceilings and ornate architraves. Outside, the nine acres include a cottage, bungalow and apartment, along with a triple garage and tennins courts. Agents Fine & Country are looking for £3.495 million.

Hoo St Werburgh, Kent
When you see the extravagant interiors of this four-bedroom houseboat, it'll come as no surprise to discover that it's featured in several magazines and TV shoots. Kitted out with Indian antiques and textiles, it's surprisingly spacious and even has a separate one-bedroom annexe. Built in 1950, Anita C has been well-maintained, and residential mooring is available if required. It costs £185,000 from agent North Kent Estates.

Llanbedr, Gwynedd
The new owners of Cae Nest Hall can expect to be hearing from film producers: the house is on the Wales Screen Commission's list of approved film locations. With 11 bedrooms, all but one en suite, it's also been run as a country house hotel. There are plenty of original Georgian features and lovely views of countryside and the sea from the upper floors. It's set in the Snowdonia National Park and could, say the agents, be divided into more than one property, giving the potential for holiday lets. It costs £485,000 through agents Walter Lloyd Jones & Co.

Rochester, Kent
Featured in Ideal Home magazine four years ago, this three-bedroom terraced house is light and spacious, with original Victorian panelling in the lounge and a working fireplace. There's a large cellar room which could be used as a playroom, gym or studio and a lovely large kitchen/diner. The garden isn't quite up to the standard of the rest, but has potential, and the owners say they can hear the cathedral bells on a Sunday morning. Agents House Network are looking for offers over £350,000.

Denham, Buckinghamshire
This one-bedroom flat for rent is in the original 1930s Denham Film Studios - once the greatest movie laboratory outside Hollywood, where Oscar-winning films were made, processed and screened. It should come as no surprise, then, that the development has its own cinema theatre and club bar. The flat itself has a double bedroom, a large open plan kitchen/living room and a good-sized private balcony. The rent is £1,278 a month; contact agent Hastings International for more details.

Stallington, Staffordshire
Used in a number of films, photo shoots and advertisements, Stallington Hall Farm has another source of income in the form of an attached three-bedroom holidasy cottage. ating back to the Tudor period with an extension added in Georgian times, it has four bedrooms of its own with two receptions and a wonderfully atmospheric cellar. It sits in half an acre of pretty gardens, and is priced at £725,000 through agent Paull Carr.

Dunchurch, Warwickshire
Featured in Pevsner's Buildings of England and noted as a 'striking property', Toft Edge has also appeared in a building design magazine. Built in 2013, it has a Californian feel with lots of glass and a terrace, with superb views from the first floor lounge across the valley. There are four light and airy bedrooms, with a huge-gleaming-white kitchen; and it incorporates a lot of passivhaus environmental principles, including whole house heat recovery ventilation systems, high insulation values and low air leakage rates. It costs £649,950 through agent Carter & King.
