Wimbledon kicked off in style this week, as ever.

There are plenty of things that are certain about the tennis championships: players will wear white, strawberries will be served and, inevitably, rain will stop play.

But one thing each year is uncertain, with one person's guess as good as the next, and that is the question of who will win.

Those in the know will be aware that our very own Andy Murray is currently world number one, but sadly this doesn't mean he's tipped for the top at the All England Club in 2017, despite last year's win.

Seven-time champion Roger Federer has taken on the role of 'favourite' in 2017 and it seems the general public have a lot of faith in the Swiss powerhouse too.

In fact, one punter has laid on a £50,000 on Federer and another has put £25,000 on him winning, bet-bonuscode.co.uk reports.

A staggering £1m in total has been bet on Roger to win, but will he come up trumps?

Plenty of people are also staking their hopes on a Federer vs. Nadal final to echo this year's Australian open.

One confident tennis fan has even put £20,000 on this happening, at odds of 5/1.

This is also the first time since 2011 that neither Andy Murray or Novak Djokovic are the favourites to win.

So, all that remains to be seen is which of these sporting superstars will be lifting the glittering gold trophy at the end of next week!
