Nail salon charges overweight customers more

A nail salon is somewhere that you would expect to be able to relax, but apparently that's not always true.

A sign allegedly posted in one Memphis nail salon has people worried about their weight.

It reads: "Sorry. But if you are overweight, pedicures will be $45 (£36) due to service fees for pedicurists. Thank you!"

A customer who claims she saw it at Rose Salon, where pedicures usually cost around $30 (£24), posted it to Facebook where people were angered to see it.

The owner of the salon, Son Ngyuen, denies he ever put a sign up.

However he did admit that he might not serve overweight people in the future because he has had to replace broken pedicure chairs twice costing him around $2,500 (£2,000).

He said he will consider his options while trying to keep his customers happy at the same time.
