valentine's day love heart card
valentine's day love heart card

This is the year that Valentine's Day won't cost you a penny. I'm not suggesting that by 2017 romance is dead, it's just that this year there are far too many brilliant Valentine's Day freebies to resist, so you can splash out on flowers, chocolates, pampering gifts and a TV package to watch together - all without spending a penny.

Now TV
For those who plan to stay in on Valentine's Day - with or without someone else taking up space on the sofa - Quidco is offering a great cashback deal on Now TV. You just sign up for 14 day free trial of the Sky Cinema Pass, through Quidco, and pay for your first month. Quidco will then refund £10 cashback - essentially paying for that month and giving you a free penny into the bargain. The only small print to watch for is that you have to watch at least 90 minutes of films in order to qualify for the cashback - but there are plenty to choose from.

Bath Bomb
Nationed is a new network for sharing deals - taking the unusual approach of calling itself a 'self-aware society' and suggesting people also share 'new ideas and opportunities' with fellow 'citizens'. One of them has spotted that you can get a free bath bomb from Bathing Beauties. These otherwise cost £7, so the freebie is well worth the effort - and will make your relaxing Valentines pampering that bit more luxurious.

F Scott Fitzgerald
If you like your love stories complicated, dark and doomed, then who better to enjoy Valentine's Day with than F Scott Fitzgerald. The users of Latestdeals.co.uk have spotted at that the moment you can download a collection of his work for free on Kindle.

The final three deals this week are all from Topcashback.co.uk, which has been pulling out the stops for Valentine's Day. New users can take their pick of £10 cashback from Next Flowers, Moonpig or Thorntons.

Flowers
To qualify for the Next Flowers deal, you need to sign up, find the deal and spend at least £10 on flowers by 14 February.

Cards
For the Moonpig deal you can sign up, find the deal, spend up to £10 on a card and get it back as cashback. The great thing about this offer is that postage is included, so if the cost of the card plus postage comes in under £10, you'll get the whole lot refunded.

Chocolates
The Thorntons deal, meanwhile, applies to 142g boxes of Thorntons Continental Chocolates (142g). These cost £6, and the postage and packaging is £3.96, so just sign up, find the deal, buy the chocolates, and you'll get the whole lot refunded as cashback.
