An Australian man blamed 'the wind' for speeding

When it comes to getting pulled over by the police some people will try and sneak out of it with a dodgy excuse.

Whether it 'I'm late for work' or even 'I didn't see the sign', they always have an answer!

Police officers must have a good laugh at the expense of all the drivers they've pulled over - sharing stories of the craziest excuses.

But an officer in Australia shared an excuse on twitter and it's gutsy - no it's, gusty.

A man going 10 mph over the 68 mph speed limit told the officer he was speeding because: "the wind was pushing me".

Which could make sense - it is harder to control smaller vehicles in strong winds - but the only issue is that this man was driving a Holden Rodeo pick up truck.

Unsurprisingly, the wind excuse didn't work and the driver was fined $150 (£90).
