Someone in the Poundland office is bound to be cringing after a six-year-old girl drew attention to the way they spelled 'mistletoe' on one of their decorations.

Even more cringeworthy is the fact this six-year-old can actually spell mistletoe - and she has her spelling test to prove it.

Maisie Hastings, from Norfolk, was outraged by the incorrect spelling after her dad Iain spotted it.

Mum Sharon told Mirror Online: "We laughed about it but put it to one side as we haven't decorated yet for Christmas.

"Then last weekend Maisie had her spellings to check and be tested and out and about again we tested the theory it was a one off.

"Maisie was rather cross when we noticed all of them in Poundland were wrong.

"We laughed - after all it's Poundland - but to a six year old sacrilege.

"We had to listen to her all Sunday evening going on about the incorrect spelling while testing her.

"She got ten out of ten by the way. I posted her sad face on Facebook.

"Poundland at first came back saying they will give us our money back. Now they have offered to send Maisie some goodies.

"The funny thing was they were even advertised incorrectly on their website.

"We find the whole thing very funny. Think the MD should be checking spellings."

Mirror Online has contacted Poundland for comment.
