Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's New Orleans home sells for £3.9 million

Not long after their separation was announced Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie started to unload their property holdings.

The first casualty has been their home in New Orleans, USA.

Pitt once described the family as 'nomadic' but said their base was at the New Orleans home.

This property has just sold for a whopping $4.9 million (£3.9 million) and the estranged couple are thought to have made a profit of more than $1 million on the house.

They bought the French Quarter 7,645 square foot mansion for $3.5 million in 2007.

However, it's understood that the couple ended up selling the home for far less than the original asking price, having cut it by $800,000 at one point.

The couple bought the property after Hurricane Katrina and Pitt helped with a housing project in one area of the city at the time.

Pitt and Jolie have also already put their French mansion and vineyard on the market.

They paid an estimated $60 million for Chateau Miraval in France.

The famous pair also own another vineyard, Villa Constanza in Italy, which they paid $41 million and a west London home that set them back a cool $16 million.
