Could this be the UK's biggest-ever divorce?

Tycoon's wife tipped to get £350 million

A tycoon's wife could be in line for the UK's biggest ever divorce payout, after allegedly being dumped for a Brazilian woman.

Richard Caring, 68, owns a string of London restaurants including The Ivy and Le Caprice. He has been married to Jacqui, 67, for 45 years. They have two sons: Jamie, a vice-president of MTV Networks Europe, and Ben, who works for Soho House.

The couple lived at a north London home that has been described as the 'Versailles of Hampstead'. But according to the Sun, Caring has now moved out of the property and is living with property developer Patricia Mondinni - who at 35 is little more than half his age.

Caring and Mondinni, who have a toddler son, are believed to be living in a £32 million ten-bedroom gated mansion in nearby St John's Wood.

Jacqui, meanwhile, could be in line for half his £700 million fortune.

"He's under no illusions. Splitting up and starting a new life will be costly," a source tells the Sun. "But he's so wealthy his standard of living won't drop by a millimetre. He can afford to do what he wants."

Caring is a close friend of disgraced BHS boss Sir Philip Green and once reportedly received £93 million in share dividends from the firm.

After leaving school at 16 and making his fortune in the fashion industry, he now owns popular celebrity night club Annabel's, as well as five branches of the members' club Soho House.

He is famous for his fancy dress parties, which have been attended by famous names from Tony Blair and Bill Clinton to Sting.

Jacqui's payment could easily top the current record payment, a whopping £337 million paid out in 2014. Jamie Cooper-Hohn, wife of financier Sir Chris Hohn, won half his fortune after a protracted fight.

But women were warned earlier this year that divorcing a wealthy man is no longer a meal ticket for life. Courts are increasingly putting time limits on how long spousal maintenance needs to be paid, in many cases stipulating that it should stop when children reach a certain age.
