CCTV footage has emerged of a brazen thief caught stealing two charity boxes and a shop workers wallet from behind the counter.

The thief, wearing a trapper hat, stole the items while the worker's attention was distracted in Vega Express in Sackville Road, Hove, East Sussex.

The footage shows the man leaning over to take the first before the shop assistant turns around, then he says something to distract him again as he leans over to take the second.

As if that wasn't enough, the shameless thief then reaches all the way over to the till to swipe the poor employee's wallet too.

He quickly tucks the stolen goods under his arm and in a bag he is holding before taking a brief look around to see if anyone is watching.

The charity boxes, which belonged to a local church, contained around £10 in total, while the 20-year-old staff member's wallet had about £120 cash in it when it was stolen just before 7.30pm on September 10.

Anyone who recognises the man or has any information regarding the incident should call 101.
