How much you are going to get paid is often one of the biggest considerations when taking on a new role or moving companies.

But, have you ever thought about how much those above you are getting annually?

New research from Printerland shows that as many as 40% of Brits believe their boss isn't worth their salary, while 44% think they could do their boss' job as well as they do or even better.

However despite this, 60% of those who took part in the research praised their boss' availability to them while 64% positively rated their manager's approachability as good or excellent.

On the other hand, only 27% of the survey's respondents rated their boss' communication well.

But how do employees make their way up the career ladder? Some clearly believe that talent and hard work isn't all you need.

As many as 10% of employees admitted that they would flirt with their boss to further their career, while 4% confessed to having done this previously for personal gain.

When it comes to getting in the good books, 12% of those asked also said they would bring their boss sweets or chocolates to improve their mood.

When it comes to salary however, things still aren't equal between genders.

A survey of those in managerial positions earlier this year found that women earned 22% less than men.

This means that the gender pay gap is currently at an average of £8,500 a year for professional roles.

To relate that to time spent in the office, this means that female managers are essentially working for free for 57 days each year.
