Princess Beatrice, Heidi Klum, Karlie Kloss, Owen Wilson and the Olsens were among 600 guests at an extraordinary wedding in the South of France at the weekend. The day saw Alberto Mugrabi - an art dealer and the son of an industrialist - marry Colby Jordan, a fashion blogger, in a $5 million ceremony (around £3.86 million).

46-year-old Mugrabi is set to inherit a fortune from his Israeli industrialist father. Meanwhile, 23-year-old Jordan is from equally impressive industrialist stock - her father is John W Jordan II - but she has chosen to take up fashion blogging rather than enter the rat race. She runs website Minnie Muse.

In the celebrity wedding cost stakes, the couple are behind Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel (who reported spent almost £5 million), but ahead of Beyonce and Jay Z (who were said to have spent around £3.2 million) and Kim and Kanye (who spent around £3 million).

The pair married at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in the South of France. They rented the entire property - but asked guests to pay for their stay. They also operated fairly high security, and impressively for a fashion blogger at a highly fashionable event, the bride only Instagrammed one photo of the groom - and that was in the days running up to the event.

However, they didn't confiscate phones, so some of the 600 guests posted photos of the lavish ceremony and celebrity guests on social media.

Among the insights gleamed from the photos was that the couple opted for an outdoor ceremony, and an aisle dotted with huge floral displays featuring white orchids. The bride wore Valentino, Owen Wilson was one of 17 groomsmen, and Nile Rodgers and Chic performed for guests - along with Marc Ronson - who may be one of the more unexpected wedding DJs.

There are also an impressive number of photos of the rich and famous larking around and hugging their friends - so it's good to see that these high fashion weddings of the rich and famous end up like any other wedding.
