Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are said to have moved to Surrey. It's not a permanent relocation: the pair have reportedly rented a £14,500-a-month home while Brad is filming the sequel to World War Z in the UK and Angelina is working on humanitarian projects.
It's not the first time the couple has lived in the UK. In 2012 they were said to have rented an even pricier pad in London while Angelina worked on Maleficent and Brad worked on The Counselor.
This time they have opted for a Surrey property, which US Weekly, says has eight bedrooms, so there's plenty of room for the couple and their six children. There's also an indoor pool and gym. The US magazine called it a 'White-House-Style' home, although it's not clear whether this is because of the age of the property, the facade, or just that it's big, white, and a house.
The Surrey Comet has speculated that the couple may be living in Elmbridge, because reports claim it is near the Thames, and this Thames-side development has attracted celebrities from Ronnie Wood to Andy Murray and Antonio Banderas.
Last year it was widely reported that the Pitt-Jolie family were considering buying a home in London. In the end, however, they decided not to buy, because it was tough to find a property with enough privacy and security for a Hollywood A-lister in the Capital. This may be why they decided to rent out of town.
Surrey offers the attraction of being reasonably commutable to London - which is why the US magazine speculated the children could commute to The Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle school in London. It also has the added advantage that Brad would be just 40 minutes from the UK home of his friend George Clooney.
Surrey is also one of the more upmarket commuter counties. In 2014, when Brad was filming World War Z in Essex, he reportedly popped out to a branch of WIMPY in Billericay in Essex. Locals claimed he went into the burger chain with his security guards, and spent £6.35 on a cheeseburger and chips. In Surrey, he wouldn't run the same risk. There would be plenty of organically-farmed, artisan-crafted, sustainably-served burgers to be picked up en-route to his nearest WIMPY.
