A woman from Dorset with total holdings of £40,000 won the first million. Her winning bond (bond number: 9FH577549) was bought in February 2000.
The second million pound winner was a woman from outer London (bond number: 196LW907254) with total holdings of £6,045 and the winning bond was bought in August 2012.
For the August draw, ERNIE paid out over 2.1 million prizes of more than £62 million in value. There were 55,889,340,839 eligible Bond numbers in the draw.

The annual Premium Bonds prize fund rate is currently set at 1.35% and the odds of each individual Bond number winning a prize are 26,000 to 1. The chances of all bonds winning are the same, regardless of when or where they were bought.
There isn't a time limit for collecting Premium Bond prizes and those who hold Premium Bonds can reduce their chances of having unclaimed prizes by opting to have prizes paid directly into their bank acounts.
