Truck drivers can make a good living, but few will see the pay day that Virginia's Steven Peloquin saw when he was he was driving through Pennsylvania recently.

The truck driver stopped to get a Mega Millions lottery ticket and matched the winning numbers in the July 21st draw. After taxes he took home a whopping $91,781,644.

Apparently it took him a few days to work out he had won the fortune. He told lottery officials: "I was getting ready to turn in last Saturday night when I went online to check my numbers. Needless to say I didn't get to sleep that night."

Steven has been a truck driver for 30 years but with his winnings he can retire early and spend a little more time with his wife and family and a little less time on the road!

Just last week we reported the story of a man who smashed all the odds by being hit by lightning AND winning the lottery. Luckily for Paul McCathie from New Brunswick in Canada, this didn't happen all in one day. The store owner was struck by lightning age 14 and then recently won $1 million in the lottery.

At the beginning of the month a down-to-earth postie lucked out winning £2.6 million from a Lucky Dip ticket. Despite his massive haul, Matt Evans, only wanted a four week holiday to celebrate before returning to work for Royal Mail.

He told the Camarthen Journal: "I am not planning on going back to work for the next four weeks but I love my job." Adding: "I have the next month to sort my head out but I can't see myself doing anything else."
