This July, London-based fans of hit series Breaking Bad will have the opportunity to literally be 'the ones who knock'. A pop-up bar themed around the TV hit is due to open on the July 24 in an as-yet-to-be-named location in the capital.
Named ABQ (after Albuquerque, the setting for the show), the bar is a project by the same group which brought London 'Annie the Owl' – the pop-up bar where guests were joined by live owls.
That one didn't go down so well with health and safety. Or animal rights activists. But we're sure this new theme will do much better.
For a mere £30, participants buy tickets so they can "cook" up cocktails inspired by Walter White's drug empire – all in an adapted RV, just like Jesse and Walt. So far, more than 30,000 people have signed up for the spot's three-month run.
In an interview with City A.M., organiser Seb Lyall said: "Gas masks, blue crystals, chemistry flasks in a motorhome-based cocktail bar? Oh yes, as Walter White said: 'We're just getting started'."
Might we suggest some deep-fried chicken (a la Los Pollos Hermanos) to perfectly complement that blue meth-tini?
