Your children will love you for ever - or at least until the money runs out. A Notting Hill house featuring a slide in the living room is up for rent at £3,500 a week.

The Rainbow House in the fashionable Portobello Road area of West London was designed in 2009 by by AB Rogers, who was asked to create a "magical and liberating space that allows the occupants to leave the outside world far behind".

With windows on three sides and a large, open-plan kitchen/dining space, it is, says agent Domus Nova, "an incredible showcase of cool, contemporary design".

The master suite features a bed that rotates through 360 degrees to take advantage of the light - and a stainless steel slide through a trap-door down into the living area below. The sofa has a central section that can rise and fall, and there's a rainbow staircase made of fibreglass and steel that fills the house with colour. The floorboards, designed by Richard Woods, are painted with fantstical designs.

"This awe-inspiring property presents a magical and liberating space that defies the norms of a domestic interior environment," say the agents. "With an abundance of windows and a bright triple aspect, The Rainbow House is luminous within, courtesy of its polished ultra-white walls."

The four-bedroom house spans four floors, with a studio room with adjoining shower room, a further guest bedroom with en suite, a media room and a "phenomenal" roof garden with 360-degree views of Notting Hill.

At around £15,000 a month, the house is 20 times as expensive as the average rental property in the UK. Over the last year, though, London rents have risen by 2% to hit an average of £1,143, according to recent research from LSL Property Service. The agents say they expect the new tenant to be someone working in the creative industries; they'll certainly need deep pockets.
