It's officially school holiday time, so desperate parents around the country will be hunting for things to do with the kids without breaking the bank. We have some great options - from a free DVD to a free day out and a free workshop.
And for the child-free there's the chance for a more grown up day away or an evening of cocktails.
Free bike workshops
Halfords is holding bike workshops for the kids this summer. They're free, and will teach children aged 7-11 basic jobs including fixing a puncture, putting a chain back on and adjusting the saddle. You'll need to book your place online
, but the users of HotUKdeals
say it's well worth the effort.
Free copy of the Lego Movie
Fiat is running a deal where anyone who test-drives a Fiat 500L before 30 September will get a free copy of The Lego Movie. Once you've had your test drive, you'll be given a voucher code, then you just need to go to the website
and enter the code and you'll be sent your DVD. The downside here is that you have to provide your contact details, so you will have to deal with being contacted by sales staff (although you can specify that you'd prefer to be contacted by email).
Free sun cream
When the sun finally returns, you can be prepared with your free bottle of sun screen. TopCashback.co.uk is running this freebie for new users. You'll need to go to the site
and register, then click the link to buy sun cream from Tesco Direct. Within 28 days the website will credit your account with the cost of the cream - up to £5 - which you can transfer into your bank account. There's no minimum spend, so if you get your cream for under £5 then it's free
Free attractions (with a train ticket)
National Rail is running a 2 for 1 deal on certain attractions, when you buy a train ticket. If you travel by train - or you hunt down a cheap ticket in order to qualify - then half of your party will get in for free. The deal is running on a number of attractions which are otherwise pretty expensive, including London Zoo and Madame Tussauds. So if you were planing a summer holiday treat, it's worth visiting the website
to see what deals are available.
If you sign up for a newsletter
from the Miller & Carter steakhouses, then you'll receive a voucher for a free cocktail with any main course. You'll need to redeem it by 18 August, and can choose between Velvet Elvis (Jack Daniel's, Chambord Raspberry and lemonade) or a Grey Goose Le Fizz (Grey Goose Vodka, elderflower, soda and lime).
