Low-cost airline Ryanair has launched two new UK routes as part of an extended winter schedule for 2014/15.
The budget Irish carrier will, for the first time, fly from Stansted to Edinburgh and Glasgow later this year, with fares starting at £19.99.
The Scottish cities are included in 12 new routes from Stansted starting in October as well as increased frequencies on 36 other routes from the Essex airport.
The new routes include Athens, Cologne, Bordeaux and Prague, with the increased programme supporting 2,500 new jobs at Stansted.
Meanwhile, airline Norwegian has begun low-cost services from Gatwick to New York, Los Angeles and
Fort Lauderdale in Florida, with New York one-way fares starting at £149.
The airline is using its new 291-seat Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on these routes. There are two services a week to Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale and three a week to New York.
