It's a double-whammy weekend, with the World Cup and Father's Day both encouraging businesses to offer all sorts of freebies. To celebrate we've got free cards, meals out, day trips, fishing and a bottle of coke.
If you're neither a Dad or a World Cup fan, then there's always a free face cleansing treatment - so you can have a spot of pampering instead
Yesterday or today most people in the UK will get a free mini copy of The Sun delivered through the door for free. Regardless of what you think of the paper, one postman told HotUKdeals.com
that it's worth turning to page four, where there's a World Cup promotion offering a coupon for a free bottle of Coke Zero from Asda, Co-Op, Morrisons, Tesco or Waitrose. The coupon can be redeemed any time before 12 July.
Free rescue remedy
If you're in need of a bit of de-stressing during a major football tournament, there's an alternative to lager. You can try Bach Rescue Remedy, which claims to be a natural stress remedy. You can get hold of a free sample, by filling your details in on their Facebook
site. They'll send you your sample and a money-off coupon in return. It's a nice little freebie, but to be honest, it's fairly unlikely to usurp lager as the supporters stress-relief of choice.
Free Father's Day card
If you remain to be convinced that it's worth getting a free pay-as-you go O2 sim just for the O2 Priority Moments app, then this month's freebie may help persuade you. You can get a free Father's Day card using the app at WH Smith. And if you go on Saturday, you can also pick up your free bottle of Coke Zero - which they offer every Saturday.
The Environment Agency is running its Take a Friend Fishing deal - starting on June 16 and running until 22 June. The idea is that anyone with an Environment Agency annual rod licence can take a friend or family member fishing for free. You just print the voucher
, fill in their details validate it online, and you're all set.
Last week we mentioned a deal which means Dad can eat for free at Chiquito
. The week before we mentioned free beer at a number of restaurants.
And since then, Beefeater has offered a free 6oz steak to any dads who dine with at least one person eating from the main menu after 6pm on Father's Day. Longleat
safari park is also offering free entry for dads for the weekend - as long as they go with at least one other full paying adult or child.
Free cleansing treatment
The July edition of InStyle magazine comes with a free mini version of the Ren Rosa Centifolia Hot Cloth Cleanser. It's worth saying up-front that the freebie is only worth it if you actually get some value from the magazine too - because the magazine costs £3.90 and the cleanser is only worth £3.20. However, if you were looking for something to read, then it's a nice little extra.
