We're all bored with winter by this stage. The rain and storms were all very novel for a while, but now we could do with a good dose of warm spring sunshine. And while sticklers will be holding out for 20 March, the rest of us can get into the swing of things for nothing.
This week we have free Easter eggs and free days out in Britain's gardens for those who are ready for better weather - and free books and salon pampering for those who are still unsure whether or not to venture out.
Free day out to RHS Gardens
Friday 7 March is the RHS Free Day Friday. It will offer free entry to four gardens: Wisley in Surrey, Rosemoor in Devon, Hyde Hall in Essex and Harlow Carr in Yorkshire. It's worth checking the opening hours for each at this time of year, but it should still give you plenty of time to bask in the spring and visit the tearooms. To ensure easy entry its also worth downloading your free garden entry tickets from the website
Four for the price of two Easter Eggs
Tesco is currently offering four medium-sized Easter eggs for the price of two. The brands in the deal include Cadbury Creme Egg, Mini Eggs, Buttons, Flake, Cadbury Caramel, Crunchie, KitKat Chunky, Smarties, Mars, Maltesers, Rolo, Aero, M&M Peanut, Moshi Monsters and One Direction. They are usually £1.50 each, so it's a cracking deal, and may well be the cheapest that this size of egg gets before Easter.
It's World Book Day on 6 March, and if you have children of school age - and the school is taking part - then you'll be getting a free £1 book token sent home, which will be valid from 3rd March to 30th March. The great news is that there are also a number of books on special offer for £1 during the month - so you can get yours for free. Among the freebies are Fun with the Worst Witch by Jill Murphy, Horrible Histories: Terrible Trenches by Terry Deary, and Rock War: The Audition by Robert Muchamore. More details of the available titles are on the official website
Free Clubcard vouchers
Tesco is running a deal until 20 May, which lets you earn 100 Clubcard points for nothing. The dedicated bargain-hunters on Hotukdeals.com
are divided as to whether this constitutes a good deal. On the one hand all you have to do is tell them when your insurance is due for renewal on the website
and you'll get the freebie. On the other hand 100 points is only worth £1, and in return you can be sure you'll be bombarded by junk mail when your renewal time comes around. It all depends how much you enjoy getting something for nothing.
Free Spa treatment
Superdrug has been running a deal for a while where you can buy a Gillette Venus & Olay razor and get a spa treatment worth up to £25 in your local son for free. The deal has been highlighted by Moneysavingexpert
, because at the moment some of the razors are on sale for half price - at £5.48. The website says the half price offer runs until Tuesday 11 March. You just keep your receipt, search online
for a salon, register your details, print off the voucher, and then call to book - remembering to mention the deal. You'll need to use the voucher by 1 August.
