Jimmy Andrews was given a check for $16.51 at a Waffle House in Piedmont, South Carolina.
When he went to the register, it was rang up for $1,666.61 instead.
Andrews didn't notice the mistake at the time, and his account was charged.
WHNS reports that after days of stress for Andrews, the issue was finally resolved.
Another waitress at the restaurant told Andrews that the '6' on the machine was sticking and the mistake happened when the cashier rang it up.
Waffle House issued a statement apologizing to Andrews and refunded him his money minus the original cost of his bill.
Andrews learned the hard way you should never sign a receipt without reading it first.
