Ikea enjoyed a bumper period of post-Christmas trading as like-for-like UK store sales increased 12% and online performance improved by 60%.
Living rooms, child-focused products and bathrooms saw the best growth during the period from December 26 to January 6, the home furnishings group said.
Visitor numbers across the 18 UK stores were up 11% in the first week of the period.
Ikea said sales had been boosted by ongoing investment in outlets and on the website.
UK and Ireland country manager Gillian Drakeford said: "We have enjoyed another strong Christmas this year."
She added: "This year we anticipate a really positive performance with our kitchen business where we have invested £8 million.
"The investment has gone into rebuilding all our kitchen room settings, staff training, improving our delivery and installation services, as well as offering a completely redesigned kitchen range.
"We will also continue to develop our multi-channel offer as we look to give customers a seamless shopping experience with the possibility to shop any way they choose."
