Brian DiCarlo found an envelope with $2,000 cash and a cashier's check for $38,000 in a parking lot in Oregon.
KPTV reports DiCarlo thought whoever lost the money was probably a wreck trying to re-trace their steps to track down the envelope.
Sharon Davis had gone to get a cup of coffee and hadn't realized she dropped the envelope.
When DiCarlo first saw the envelope, he thought it was trash. He called the local sheriff's office, and deputies were able to get the money back to its rightful owner.
KVVU says the money was for a downpayment on a house she was buying.
This is the kind of story that reminds us there is a lot of good in the world.
