Freebie Friday: this week's discounts, deals and freebies

Updated:

Freebie Friday

Watch your waistline because this week is National Chocolate Week and National Baking Week. If you're in the mood for celebrating we have some deals to make it cheaper (although sadly we can do nothing about the calories).

If you're abstaining, then you can look ahead to some great freebies and deals for Halloween and the half term instead.

10% off chocolate

Promotionalcodes are offering 10% off online orders over £35 from Hotel Chocolat with the code PROMOHCWIN10. It seems an awful lot to spend on chocolate, but this is a premium brand, and you'll be surprised how easy it is to spend this much without trying. The deal runs until 23 December, so you can use it for Christmas too.

Free tea and cake

If you don't fancy baking the cake yourself, you can take advantage of free tea and cake from John Lewis. On 30 October they are launching a loyalty card. It won't let you collect points or vouchers, instead it'll offer free prize draws and incentives. One of the most attractive has to be that once a month you can get your hands on a tea and cake freebie in the cafe. From the 30th, you'll be able to sign up here.

Free Monkey World entry

If you're looking for somewhere to go for Halloween, and you're reasonably local to Dorset, then you can get in for free if you wear full Halloween costume on 31 October. The deal was found by users of hotukdeals.com who add that if you do get in for nothing, they would appreciate you bringing in any old towels or sheets to donate to the monkeys.

Free National Trust Entry for Kids

For half term a number of properties are offering free entry for kids in Halloween costume. Those taking part include Claremont Landscape Gardens in Esher (which is also offering Halloween craft workshops), Hinton Ampner in Alresford (with a Pumpkin Trail thrown in for good measure) and Winkworth Arboretum in Godalming (which offers Pumpkin Driving).

Free kids' entry to The Shard

For those in London over the half term, the View from the Shard is offering up to two free child tickets with every adult ticket. The deal runs between 21 October and 3 November (it'll also run from 20 December to 6 January). Given that children's tickets usually cost £18.95 this is a great deal - because an adult and two children can admire the view for £24.95 - instead of £62.85. You'll need to book this in advance on the site, because there are only a certain number of free tickets for each day.

20% off football stadia tours

Those with sports enthusiasts in the family can take advantage of a range of football stadium tours for the half term. Visitors get a true match-day experience, exploring behind the scenes and gaining access to the changing rooms and tunnels. TopCashback users can get 20% off the cost of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Wembley stadium tours.
