A teenage shop assistant has become the first man to walk away with the £250,000 top prize on gameshow Deal or No Deal.
Patrick Roberts, 18, is only the sixth contestant in the eight years of the Channel 4 show to win the maximum haul.
He turned down a final offer of £140,000 when he was left with two boxes containing £75,000 and £250,000 and had a nervous wait while host, Noel Edmonds, opened his box to reveal the prize.
The teenager, from Wigan, works in his mum's sandwich shop and is now learning to drive and has bought himself a car and donated some money to a charity which helped the son of a fellow contestant who was diagnosed with cancer.
He is also planning to go to catering college and wants to open his own restaurant.
He said: "A lot of it is a blur but I remember that whilst waiting for Noel to open the box it was like my insides had frozen. Being on Deal or No Deal was the best experience of my life and I have made some lifelong friends."
