Freebie Friday: this week's discounts, deals and freebies

Freebie Friday

Welcome to Freebie Friday, a weekly round up of the very best discounts, deals and freebies around.

This week you can get a bargain and treat yourself from top to toe - from makeup to shoes and everything in between.

The annual summer Clubcard Exchange starts on Monday. You'll get your Clubcard Statement at some point in the next week, and until 2 July you can exchange your vouchers for double the value in tokens to spend in eight different departments in store. The vouchers will be valid until 11 July.

The departments included in the deal are gardens, garden furniture and BBQ, bikes, camping and outdoor sports, toys, clothes, cameras, satnav and audio, baby and toddler, cook and dine, and opticians.

This is clearly a great deal if you were planning on buying something from these departments. However, there are three rules you'll need to follow to make this pay.

First, check it's not cheaper elsewhere. Just because it will work out at half the original price, it doesn't automatically make this the cheapest place to shop.

Second, consider alternative places to spend your Clubcard vouchers. The deal is good, but even double the value is not a patch on what you can get from exchanging the vouchers for some other things. Some theme parks, for example, will give you almost three times the value.

Third, you need to spend the vouchers. If you don't get round to it, this switches from being a great deal to being a horrible waste of vouchers.

Free Costa

If you pop into Costa today between 2pm and 6pm and order any Medio Costa ice drink, you'll get another one for free. Then all you have to do is choose whether to treat someone else or have them both yourself.

Half price Starbucks

The users of have discovered Bespoke Offers are selling £10 Starbucks gift vouchers for £5. It's a bit of a faff: you have to pay the site and you get a code to enable you to buy a half price card (which you need to do by 12 July). The card is then valid until 29 September to spend in store. However, if you're a Starbucks fan, then it could shave a big chunk off the cost of your coffee indulgences.

Clarks has a discount code offering £10 off orders over £70 at Clarks, £15 off orders over £100, £30 off orders over £150, and £50 off orders over £200 . You have to shop online, and enter the code BRIGHT at the checkout to get the deal. It's valid until Monday, which should give you enough time to club together with friends to spend over £200 and get 25% off each. It could take the pain out of shopping for summer shoes.

If you buy June's Elle magazine for £4 you'll get a free travel-size Benefit mascara on the cover. It's an expensive brand, and the full size mascara - which is roughly twice as big as this one - costs £19.50 - so it's a decent saving even if you decide to bin the magazine.

In the June copy of Essentials magazine, there's a voucher for 20% off all womenswear at BHS. You can enter the code online or take the voucher into a shop. The voucher is valid until 1 June, so you've got a while to consider how to spend it. The magazine itself costs £2.99, so you'll need to spend at least £15 to break even.
