​Consumers are to receive greater protection when using offshore gambling sites with new measures to ensure all operators in the local market hold a UK licence.

Remote gambling operators based in the UK are required to hold a Gambling Commission licence while overseas operators are regulated in the jurisdiction in which they are based.
