Asda hit by new horse meat worries

Updated

Cheap meat worries are galloping back. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has discovered traces of the horse drug bute - which can be used to treat arthritis in horses - inside £1.54 tins of Asda Smart Price Corned Beef. Bute is banned from the food chain.

Meanwhile the latest data has revealed that many British shoppers are still enthusiastically buying cheap beef.%VIRTUAL-SkimlinksPromo%
