Portsmouth City Council has been forced to give away a £375,000 manor house after failing to attract a buyer due to rumours of ghosts and other monstrous sightings.

The Grade II listed manor, which is thought to be the oldest house in Portsmouth and was mentioned in the 1086 Doomsday Book, is said to house a choir of nuns.
