Inflation rate forecast to drop

The UK's rate of inflation will drop back on Tuesday in a brief respite before a predicted surge in the cost of living over the coming months.

The consensus forecast of City analysts is for the consumer price index (CPI) to have fallen to 2.6% in November, from 2.7% in October, when figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) are published.
