The best cheap Father's Day gifts

Updated:
Father's Day 2012With Father's Day just a week away, we have the best cheap gifts worth a look.

Father's Day falls on 17th June this year, so the clock is ticking if you want to get your dad a present that he'll love but which won't cost you a fortune.

Here are some of the best gifts I've found, all for £20 or less.

Gifts under £5
For dads that spend a lot of time in the garden, this kneepad from gettingpersonal.co.uk is great. There's a few different slogans to choose from, though my personal favourite is "Dad the weed slayer". Best of all it's only £4.99.

And check out this organic herb garden seed collection from notonthehighstreet.com. For £5 you get a collection of eight herbs. You can choose from two packs: pack one has basil, borage, chervil, coriander, dill, marjoram, parsley and salad burnet; pack two contains basil, caraway, chamomile, chives, fennel, lemon balm, savory and thyme.

Over at Marks & Spencer this Father's Day keyring is £3.50.

If your dad is a practical type, then head over to play.com. For £3.99 you can get this 11-in-1 mini tool pocket knife.

Staying on a beer theme, Morrisons has a selection of classic ales gift box for £8.

Alternatively there's paintballing for ten people for only a tenner from lastminute.com. It's available at over 50 locations across the country and lunch is included.

With summer here (supposedly) there's plenty of time ahead for barbecues. And that means an excuse for dads to crack out their novelty aprons. There's this Licence to Grill apron for £9.50 from Amazon, this Stand Back – Dad is Cooking! apron from Apron Heaven for £7.99 or even this Coronation Street themed effort from thingimijigs.co.uk.

Keeping on the alcohol theme, there's also this personalised wine from prezzybox.com. I can't promise that the wine itself is any good, but you'll most likely get a smile! It costs £14.95 and you can choose either red or white wine.

If your father is an adrenaline junkie then why not arrange for an extreme rigid inflatable boat taster. The 60-minute high speed cruise takes place down on the Solent, and currently costs just £19.50 from Virgin Experience Days.

He may not take this in the spirit in which it's intended, but play.com is selling this Phillips nose/ear/eyebrow hair trimmer for £12.25.

If you really want to treat him with chocolate, then get over to Thorntons. There's a Thanks Dad hamper with everything from I love Dad cups to chocolate medals and an original toffee box in there, all for £20.
