Bishops told to get more frugal

Britain's top clergymen have been told to to cut their cloth to the tough economic circumstances. The Church of England has told 44 bishops that the collective running costs of their - in some cases -lavish homes is to be slashed, from £7m for three years to £5m for 2011-13.

Medieval palaces, in some cases, aren't getting any cheaper to heat and repair.
