Shoppers set for £18m online spree

Shoppers are set to spend almost £18 million an hour online on Christmas presents and other festive goods on Monday, many from work, according to a study.

The spending spree will start a week earlier than last year because people are worried about a repeat of the extreme weather which gripped the UK last December, said shopping comparison website Kelkoo.
