Moment Rescue Sheep Is Welcomed by Herd to New Sanctuary Is Perfect

It's a fresh start for a newly rescued sheep at the Woodstock Animal Sanctuary in High Falls, New York.  The sheep was brought to the sanctuary so that she wouldn't be killed. And now she has a whole new life — including a flock to keep her loved and safe.

The video of the sheep, Nicole, arriving at the facility is giving us major first day of school vibes.

The video from Woodstock Sanctuary shows Nicole as she was unloaded from the transit van. She leaped from the car and then looked a little nervous as gazed across the field to where the other sheep were grazing. But she didn't have to wait too long. The rest of the sheep quickly ran over to Nicole. "Welcome! Welcome!" they seemed to say.

It honestly brought a tear to our eyes. We can only imagine how relieved Nicole's handler's were when she was so quickly accepted by her peers. And people in the comments section were just as emotional over the meeting. "The way they all came to greet her omg," one person exclaimed. "Y'all got me crying over a damn sheep named Nicole on a Monday evening," someone else joked. "Why am I crying over sheep. The way they all run over to her like 'you’re safe here, we’ll love you,'" a third commenter wrote.

Life Before Woodstock Sanctuary Was Hard

There was a reason why Nicole was rescued after all. Her story is heartbreaking, as the sanctuary explained in the caption, "before rescue, Nicole was bred over and over again, and never had a baby live."

"We know after examining her that there’s likely something wrong with her udder that prevented her babies from nursing," they continued. "She and her babies never received any help so she kept experiencing loss after loss, 'til finally she was no longer wanted by the farm."

Or as the sanctuary put it elsewhere in the video, they used Nicole until she was no longer "profitable," — how truly sad. In fact, Nicole had given birth only two days before being rescued and was going to be killed after her babies once again didn't survive.

"Luckily we were able to take her in, and now her quarantine period is over!" the sanctuary continued in the caption.

We know this is just the beginning. Nicole is surely about to live a life of peace, love, and safety — something that every animal out there so dearly deserves.
