Man's X-rated find inside catch: 'Didn't expect this '

'Catch of the day' has taken on an entirely different meaning for two fishermen, who reeled in a 9kg fish with a jaw-dropping item in its belly.

Richard Kesar and his friend Jon Hoop went fishing on the Ohio River in the US state of Indiana, hoping to snag a blue catfish, which would have been Mr Hoop's first.

They were in luck – but the two men realised straight away something was off when they reeled the fish in, with Mr Kesar telling Fox 59 they noticed its stomach was huge.

He said it wasn't unusual to find other fish or wildlife in the bellies of fish.

Initially, they thought eggs were inside the stomach, or perhaps an undigested meal. However, Mr Kesar took a closer look and determined the two hard objects in the stomach were not eggs.

Later, the fish was cut open with Mr Kesar's wife and three-year-old daughter watching on, and what they saw made them cover their daughter's eyes in shock.

Inside the fish was an adult sex toy. It is unknown how the sex toy ended up in the river and how the fish managed to swallow it.

“When it came out Jon, my wife, and I started laughing," Mr Kesar told Fox 59.

"My wife immediately covered my daughter’s eyes and turned her away from it.”

However, his daughter apparently keeps asking about what was in the fish.

There was also a foam ball and part of another fish inside the stomach, WXIN reported.

A now-deleted Facebook post about the curious find had been shared thousands of times.

"Well we had a pretty interesting fishing trip this morning, we noticed the stomach was hard but didn't expect this to come out of it," Mr Kesar wrote on the post.
