Louise Thompson has had a stoma bag fitted and she has received praise for sharing her brave story.

The news follows a month after Thompson revealed her nightmare hospital visit and how she had been "losing a cup of blood every 20 minutes". Telling the world about her stoma bag, she said: "It’s not exactly exciting like a big pregnancy or gender reveal announcement! Hey look i’m having a boy… Hey look i’ve got a stoma!"

Immediately her celebrity friends have rallied around her and fans have hailed the former Made In Chelsea star as inspirational. Her social media was filled with comments as Thompson asked her followers to "be kind".

Leading the praise, her brother Sam Thompson shared some kind words beneath her post. The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here winner wrote: "The only way is up from here on out. The fact that you're my sister is just so f***ing awesome! A real life hero."

Her brother Sam Thompson's girlfriend Zara McDermott was among the first to share her hope for the reality star. She celebrated Thompson's stoma bag as a "beautiful thing" because she was now "free". She wrote: "When you think about it, it’s a beautiful thing because it means less time in hospital, less time in pain, less time with a poison organ in your body! Now you are free my girl. Now it’s time for YOU."

Among those commenting of course were her former Made In Chelsea co-stars and friends. Rosie Fortuescue shared her praise for Thompson. "So proud of you tiny one," she wrote. Lucy Watson said she was "sending love".

"This is a very brave post & one which will empower a lot of other people living with a stoma. My 1-year-old daughter had to get a stoma and we soon realised, even at that age, there was a lot of stigma surrounding one. She would have loved to have seen a post like this."

"You make even a stoma bag look cool- and super brave speaking up and showing vulnerability as it helps break the stigma and encourage people."

"Amazing, total respect to you for sharing this. You will have done more for Crohn’s awareness than you can ever imagine x."
