We've all had moments where our appliances don't work exactly how we expect them to work, and the people in the following video couldn't understand why their Roomba vacuum wasn't cleaning the entire room like it was programmed to do.

Until they discovered their kitten was using it as a bestie.

The sweet video was shared by the TikTok account for @lauraelle111 and a lot of people feel it's time for this kitten to have a friend. One person commented, "The only solution is to get a 2nd cat...she needs a friend." Another added, "She’s enjoying her playmate, the Roomba." Another added, "Looks like you need to get another cat!"

Agreed! I think this cat is a perfect candidate to get their own cat, as long as its owners are financially, mentally and emotionally prepared to add another cat to their family!

Before you think about adding a cat to your house, make sure the new cat is up-to-date on vaccinations and free from any parasites.

Prepare separate safe spaces for each cat so they can have their own food, sleeping area and litter box at first. You should also scent swap them by rubbing a clean towel or t-shirt or blanket on each cat and leaving the item with the other cat. Cats are very social but they can also be wary of other cats at first. Getting them used to each other's scent can make introductions go a lot easier.

Let the cats see each other. The cats should only be allowed to see one another once they are fully relaxed in the home in general and when encountering the scent of the other cat. Icatcare advises, keep the sessions short and finish while they are still doing well, that is, interested in the food/toy provided and showing no negative behaviors or signs of distress. If either cat shows any signs of distress or negativity towards each other, separate the cats physically and visually immediately.

If the cats seems to handle this part okay you can try introducing them in the same room, but once again, if they exhibit negative behaviors or signs of distress, put them back in their safe spaces and try again later.

Lots of treats, affection and praise when they are in each other's company will help a lot too. It could take anywhere from a few moments to a few weeks for the cats to get along, and they may never be best friends and simply tolerate each other, but more times than not cats bond with each other no problem.

Before you know it, they will probably get along just fine! Just go slow and be patient. Give lots of love and praise to each cat and enjoy your new pet!
