  • MSC Cruises' "ship that will follow the sun" is set to come into service in December 2017 and will homeport in PortMiami where it will sail year-round in the Caribbean, accommodating 5,179 guests. MSC Seaside will offer a range of open-air activities such as dining and drinking al-fresco, strolling along the promenade and simply taking in the sea views from the privacy of the many balcony cabins. Inspired by an elegant beach condo, every element of the ship will bring guests closer to the sea, with special design features including the unique 360-degree ocean level promenade, panoramic glass lifts, a 30-metre bridge on the top deck and 76 per cent of cabins positioned on the outside of the ship.

  • The largest cruise ship to be built specifically for the British market will arrive in 2020, exceeding 180,000 gross tons and accommodating around 5,200 guests. P&O Cruises' yet-to-be-named ship promises an "innovative use of space" through its extensive range of dining, entertainment and relaxing features. Its "green cruising" design as one of the first generation of cruise ships to be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas, shipping’s most advanced fuel technology, will significantly reduce air emissions and make it the most environmentally-friendly ship in P&O Cruises' history. The cruise line says that guests can expect a striking new exterior and interior design, while the company's classic and iconic features will be comprehensively embraced.

  • Norwegian Cruise Line's next vessel will be the first cruise ship custom-built with features and amenities for the ultimate Alaska cruise experience. Norwegian Bliss will cruise to America's Last Frontier from Seattle and will be the first of its ships to make its debut in the Emerald City. The state-of-the-art vessel will accommodate 4,000 guests and offer "amenities and interactive experiences that will excite and inspire". The hull's artwork will come from renowned marine life artist Wyland.
  • The first next-generation smart ship from MSC Cruises has been designed around meeting every need of its guests and will offer cutting-edge ways to connect holidaymakers seamlessly with the experiences that matter to them, whether at sea or on land. MSC Meraviglia will feature the ultimate in entertainment, alongside a broad range of dining options and luxurious wellness choices. The 1,033ft-long ship will have room for 5,700 guests, with highlights including the Cirque du Soleil show, a TV studio to broadcast games, gigs and talent shows, as well as a super-amusement park and children's area. MSC Cruises has partnered with Samsung so that guests can use their phones to access their cabins, pay for items on board and track their children.
  • Honouring Holland America Line's past while keeping its eyes on the future, Nieuw Statendam will be the sixth ship in the company's history to bear the name Statendam. The 99,500 gross-ton ship will carry 2,650 guests and combine several of the innovative venues that were introduced on Koningsdam with new concepts. Renowned hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany’s designs will be featured on Nieuw Statendam and several public areas will be designed by Bjorn Storbraaten, who successfully worked with Holland America Line on Koningsdam, ms Eurodam and ms Nieuw Amsterdam on the ship’s public rooms.

  • In 2019, Crystal Cruises will launch the first of its three new expedition mega yachts, Crystal Endeavor, which will be the world’s first purpose-built polar class mega yacht. Measuring 600 feet long, the 25,000 gross-ton ship has 100 guest suites and will be the largest and most spacious mega yacht afloat. It will be fitted with state-of-the-art offshore dynamic positioning technology, with computer-controlled systems to automatically maintain its position with its own propellers and thrusters. The 200-guest capacity ship will also offer extreme adventures, with its helicopters, submarines, jet skis and SEABOBs (the world’s most technically advanced and powerful underwater scooter) on board.

  • Carnival Cruise Line's new 3,934-passenger vessel will arrive in March 2018, bringing a wide range of accommodation categories and unique innovations. The second ship of the Vista-class series, Carnival Horizon will offer many of the options available on Carnival Vista, such as the hugely popular indoor and outdoor dining, bar, entertainment and activity facilities including SkyRide, the IMAX Theatre, WaterWorks aqua park, Seuss at Sea programme in partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Alchemy Bar.

  • Celebrity Cruises is set to introduce its first ship of "new modern luxury class" in 2018 when Celebrity Edge hits the cruise scene. While the cruise line has not revealed images of its design, it says the ship has a "name that reflects its ambitious design". Just over a year after its launch, sister ship Celebrity Beyond will be delivered in early 2020.
  • Crystal River Cruises will launch two new ships in 2017, Crystal Mahler and Crystal Bach, which will be 135 metres in length and provide 55 suites for 106 guests. The ships will cruise on the Rhine, Main and Danube Rivers, and both will offer luxurious amenities that surpass the comforts of home, including Crystal’s acclaimed butler service for every suite. Other enticing features include highly-acclaimed cuisine in multiple eateries: the elegant Waterside Restaurant, namesake Bistro cafés and the exclusive Vintage Room. Guests will be allowed to dine where they want and when they want, and can enjoy the full-service spa and separate fitness centre, as well as a fully-enclosed pool.
  • Spring 2017 will see the arrival of Silversea’s newest flagship Silver Muse as an exciting evolution of the Silver Spirit that will redefine ultra-luxury ocean travel. It promises to enhance the small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodations that are the hallmarks of the Silversea experience, while providing the largest number of suites in Silversea’s fleet. The ship will feature outstanding public areas, including a state-of-the-art theatre, an exceptional pool and an exclusive spa area. Silver Muse will also offer the finest culinary experience at sea, with eight on-board restaurants from the exclusive Relais & Châteaux restaurant La Dame, to the open-air Hot Rocks.
