Unusual places to get married
  • The ambient lighting and unusual rock formations make caves a truly unique wedding venue. No need to worry about the weather either as the whole thing will be done underground.
  • Getting married on a cliff might not seem like everyone's cup of tea but if you're into outdoor activity sports this could be perfect. You'll get breathtaking views and a set of wedding photos no one will be able to beat!
  • Bran Castle in Romania was once home to Vlad the Impaler who was the inspiration for the character of Dracula. It may not be the most romantic place in the world but it probably appeals more to horror fans. The castle has been restored to its original condition and can take up to fifty guests.
  • For those wanting to keep their feet on the ground, why not make your way to Everest for a spectacular ceremony - although it won't be an easy walk getting there. Once at the top you'll get stunning views of the Himalayas and the ceremony will last around ten minutes, giving you just enough time to remove your oxygen mask to say 'I do'!
  • Surround yourself with nature as you step into the Amazon Rainforest for your nuptials and enjoy the beautiful views and fascinating wildlife that will be all around you.
  • A shark aquarium is definitely an unusual place for a wedding but the gallons of sea water and beautiful sealife will make for a stunning setting. Adrenaline junkies can step up the fear factor and tie the knot in an underwater shark cage.
  • Why not start married life up, up and away in the clouds? With the ceremony performed in the plane, the couple can then take a leap of faith as husband and wife.
  • Fancy a Disney wedding with a twist? Ditch the Small World Mall and take a trip to the Tower of Terror. You can rent the spooky ride for the day and have your ceremony in the courtyard before being allowed to ride for free all day.
  • A wedding at a volcano is a match made in heaven for adventurous couples. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park offers an interesting range of wedding venues including one which overlooks the Kilauea Crater which is the most active volcano in the world.
  • Seeing as you can't quite get married in space yet how about recreating that feeling in a modified Boeing 747. Weightlessness can be created for limited periods, giving you just enough time to tie the knot on a cloud of love.
