Terrifying moment tiger attacks trainer during circus show in northern China

A tiger attacked a trainer during a circus show in northern China.

Horrifying footage of the incident, filmed in the city of Yuncheng in Shanxi Province, shows the animal suddenly tackling the trainer and pinning him to the ground.

Three members of staff are seen rushing to help their colleague, with one using a stick to hit the tiger repeatedly in an attempt to drive it away.

Three trainers suffered injuries during the incident, with one of them losing a finger.

Since the tiger was inside a cage, no members of the audience were injured.

According to reports, the tiger had previously had its teeth removed.

Police investigations are continuing.
