This strange red-lipped batfish can be found in ocean's abyss

A strange, red-lipped anglerfish can be found lurking deep in the Pacific Ocean near the Galapagos Islands.

It's called the red-lipped batfish, and as its name suggest, it has quite a vivid pout.

Why that is remains unclear, but one popular suggestion is that the colour helps the fish to attract mates.

Notably, the bright red lips are not the creature's only unique trait.
