The cliff side sanctuary 'between heaven and earth'

The cliff side sanctuary Madonna della Corona in the Province of Verona is a breathtaking structure built among the rocks and overlooking the Adige river.

Built right into a vertical cliff face on Mount Baldo, it looks as though it is suspended in mid-air.

The church does not actually hang on the sheer face but instead sits on a thin rock shelf that can only be reached by a thin path.
