Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly high on the guest list for his newly-engaged ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas’ wedding, set to take place early next year.

Despite their romantic past, the invitation will come as no surprise to royal watchers, as Cressida famously attend the Duke and Duchess’ nuptials in 2018.

Now, the 30-year-old and her aristocratic fiancé, Harry Wentworth-Stanley, are reportedly preparing to return the favour, when RSVPs are sent out in the coming months.

Friendly former flames

“[Prince] Harry will definitely go, as he has remained on very friendly terms with Cressida,” royal insider Adam Helliker told Fabulous Digital.

“[Cressida] has never said a word in public about her relationship with the prince. Harry is also very friendly with the bridegroom’s mother, Clare Milford Haven.”

Mr Heliker went on to explain that although Harry has remained tight with his former flame - who he dated from 2012 to 2014 - the Duchess of Sussex prefers to keep her distance.

“Meghan is known to feel less comfortable with his Harry's former girlfriends, particularly Chelsy Davy who was the prince’s first love,” he said.

Prince Harry’s first love

The Zimbabwe-born law graduate Chelsy was the prince’s first serious girlfriend after the couple met soon after Harry finished school in 2004.

Although their relationship saw regular break ups, the pair stayed together for seven years and were linked as recently as 2015.

Like Cressida, Chelsy also attended Harry’s Windsor Castle wedding, but did not receive an invitation to the afternoon or evening reception.

Both relationships are said to have ultimately faltered due to the women’s respective reluctance to not live in the glare of the royal spotlight.

Newly engaged

However, while Chelsy remains single, Cressida has happily found love again with another Harry, who she first dated years before meeting the royal.

The estate agent, who works for Savills, confirmed he’d popped the question on his Instagram account last week.

Taken in Nantucket, Massachusetts, the couple are seen smiling at the camera as Cressida shows off her beautiful diamond ring.

“We getting married,” he told followers.
