Body parts you have but no longer need

While evolution has changed humans, like the ability to walk upright, it missed parts of the body we no longer need.

Chances are you or someone you know have had their appendix removed ... and lived to tell the tale. It once may have helped digest a diet rich in cellulose but with our diets changing so has our need for the appendix.

And while cats and dogs look cute when they move their ears it's really just to hear better thanks to the auricular muscles, but humans with their flexible necks don't need this muscle anymore.

Also, the plica semilunaris is a fold of tissue near the corner of the eye that acts like a third eyelid in certain birds and reptiles but we lost that function a long time ago.
