Rare Scottish wildcat kitten born in captivity

Britain's rarest mammal, a female Scottish wildcat kitten, has been born at Chester Zoo.

Only 100 wildcats remain in the UK, with most spread around remote, wooded areas of the Scottish Highlands.

The animals are bigger and stronger than a domestic cat and conservationists are focused on preserving existing wild populations while also breeding in captivity for possible future release.
