London's Eukanuba Discover Dogs event is back and will see more than 3,000 dogs and thousands of dog lovers head to ExCeL London on 22nd and 23rd October 2016.

Tickets are now on sale for one of London's most unique events, which last year welcomed nearly 28,000 dog lovers who came to meet and greet almost 200 breeds of dog, shop for doggy products, and watch fun four-legged displays and competitions - as well as getting advice on buying a dog responsibly.

If you're thinking of getting a puppy or dog, these are the important things to remember:

Always, always avoid puppy farms - rehoming is by far the best option, but if you're buying a dog, make sure you're using a responsible breeder.

Always ask to see health test results and certificates of the parents.

Do your research before you pick a breed. All breeds have different characteristics and needs.

The most important advice of all is this: No matter what breed you plump for, be ready to change your life. In order to thrive, dogs need lots of attention, companionship, and love. And they can be very expensive to keep.
