Jamie Oliver set to land fourth Xmas bestseller

There are some things that are almost guaranteed to happen at Christmas - the John Lewis ad will get everyone talking, at least one of your online purchases will fail to be delivered in time... and Jamie Oliver will top the bestselling books list.

The TV chef is on course to land his fourth consecutive Christmas bestseller, as his latest collection of recipes is once again topping the charts.

According to figures released by The Bookseller magazine, Save With Jamie, which aims to show families how to cook 'tasty, nutritious food on a budget' has already shifted more than twice the number of copies of its nearest cookery-based rival, the Great British Bake Off's Everyday: Over 100 Foolproof Bakes.

The Naked Chef has landed the number one spot for the past three years in a row, with 15 Minute Meals, Jamie's Great Britain and 30-Minute Meals all outselling their competitors.

Oliver's latest book is also beating Helen Fielding's long-awaited Bridge Jones sequel, Mad About the Boy, which had sold 172,742 by the end of November, compared to the TV chef's 201,959.

Tom Kerridge's Proper Pub Food, Nigel Slater's Eat and Paul Hollywood's Pies and Puds are among the top five cookery books on offer during the festive season, with the Christmas recipe book market alone said to be worth £20 million.
