Christmas will soon be here, which means one thing - time to find the perfect party dress. If you haven't already got something hot lined up, here are a few on-trend ideas to try this festive season.

Stand out
Stand out from the crowd in colour. Forget black, red is the colour of the season - whether you choose to go for sexy scarlet, on-trend oxblood or a deep red/purple. Team a simple dress with studded or diamante detailing with sparkling jewellery and accessories for a show stopping look. Glamorous gothic
Gothic remains a catwalk favourite this year and for the party season it's all about glamour. Art deco decadence
If you really want to make an impact this Christmas, a little art deco elegance is the way to go. A flapper dress and 1920s-style accessories will exude fun, glamour and just a hint of decadence. This trend has been around since last year but there are plenty of pretty dresses in the shops. Both Topshop and River Island have flapper dresses on their rails this year, ranging from £150 to £175, or head to Debenhams to grab the Butterfly by Matthew Williamson dark blue embellished deco dress for the bargain price of £69.
