It seems that driving simulation fans hopeful that the latest instalment in the Gran Turismo series would meet its November 2 launch date are set to be very upset.
Playstation has announced on its US blog that the worldwide launch of Gran Turismo 5 has been put back indefinitely because creator Kazunori Yamauchi needs more time to create the 'perfect racing experience'.
Details that have been reported so far of the game have indicated that it will be very ambitious, with over 1000 cars and 70 cars available.
Other changes see damage being included for the first time and interesting new features such as go-kart races, NASCAR racing cars available and even the Top Gear test track has been digitised.
Playstation has said that the game will still be released 'this holiday season', but there is no indication of when exactly that might be.
The game has been in development for nearly four years now, and Yamauchi originally indicated in April 2009 that the game would be ready to hit the shelves that Christmas.
The anticipation is still there, but clearly fans won't be holding their breath this time round.
