The Ludlow Food and Drink Festival is a favourite with foodies everywhere and always delivers something new and exciting for your taste buds. This year It looks to further its gastronomic reputation still further by showcasing more than 130 top quality small independent food and drink producers from the Marches; the England-Wales border country, inside Ludlow Castle. The 2010 Ludlow Marches Food and Drink Festival takes place from the 10th -12th of September in Ludlow, Shropshire.

It's not just food producers on show either. There will also be an array of food themed events throughout Ludlow's historic town centre. Take a look at the famous Ludlow Festival Loaf trail as well as great demonstrations, talks, food vendors and more.

Since 1995 it has grown to be one the country's most successful food festivals. It's a lot bigger now with large numbers of visitors from the UK, as well as overseas. The festival's aim is to highlight the great food and drink that is available in the Marches.

The organisers are hoping to encourage visitors to celebrate quality food and drink and give them the chance to buy local fresh food that tastes and looks great. The festival doesn't just have a passion for local food either; there are also wine producers on site who will be happy to see you sample some of the local vintage. It's all about the very best produce the area has to offer.

Festival organisers and volunteers work hard each year to bring new and exciting food producers to this highly successful event. You can guarantee some spicy delights and a range of international favours as well as the local treats on offer. There will be the regular favourites like the famous Festival Sausage trail. Visitors can sample and vote for their favourite local banger. Whilst in Ludlow Castle you will be able to sample more of the foodie delights on offer. There is also an ale trail for those in need of some liquid refreshment. You will be able to sample some of the best local brews out and about around Ludlow.

The event is not just for the well-funded food lover, whatever your budget or taste, there will be something to suit you.
